American public health surveys carried out in seleniferous areas of the United States failed to establish any symptoms specific to selenium poisoning. Even with an average daily intake of 724 mcg amount North Dakota and Wyoming ranchers living in seleniferous areas, signs of symptoms of selenium overexposure were not observed.
